FRENCH BLUE CHORE COAT
FRENCH BLUE CHORE COAT
This is about as authentic a piece of French workwear you can find short of hitting the stalls at Les Puces de Saint-Ouen. Based on a classic French worker’s jacket known as a bleu de travail, our design team worked with textile gurus, Three Looms, to source a Japanese indigo fabric that will fade beautifully over time. The handfeel is solid yet soft like your favorite pair of broken-in jeans. Other authentic details include melamine buttons on the center placket and cuffs. There are three open exterior pockets and one Interior pocket on the wearer's right for your cell phone or wallet. Or as the New York Times put it in a recent article, “Typical of this men’s wear pro, Todd Snyder’s denim chore coat filters a staple through his knowledge of Japan’s long infatuation with American workwear. . . .It looks like something you’d find at a hipster hole-in-the-wall in Omotesando.”
STYLE NOTE: There is a matching pair of French Chore Pants for those days you want to sport a French-Canadian tuxedo and sit in front of your neighborhood cafe smoking Gitanes. Style PA799063.
